Vintage Dichroic Sterling Silver Oval Pendant with Textured Setting, 1970's Modernist Jewelry.

This pendant I found at an estate sale and bought it from an artist that collected this type of glass jewelry. She told me how it was made, and I was amazed how much work goes into making these pieces. It is a specialty glass that is achieved through the applications of thin layers of metal oxides which create an interference of effects that alters the wavelengths of light reflected thru the glass. This is sterling silver and marked by the maker, I have no idea who that is. The pendant is 2" by 1" wide, textured setting with pronged settings, dark and turquoise blues with silver and gold accents, has a large bail for chunky chains. This is a one-of-a-kind piece so you will be the only one to have this. Great gift for those artsy jewelry lovers (me).
